An Offer Of Support, and a Time To Give

When it first became apparent that our business was going to take a bit of a hit with the market, I was overly focused on, “how can we get the firm back on track as soon as possible”, or, “what can we do to weather our storm.”

But I realized something important which is that this is our opportunity to sort of hit pause on our day-to-day operations, and focus heavily on supporting others. 

The following is an abbreviated reiteration of Brian Peterson's talk-track from the video above: 

Hopefully you all are healthy and in good spirits during what has proven to be an incredibly difficult, confusing, and bizarre time in our lives.

When it first became apparent that our business was going to take a bit of a hit with the market, I was overly focused on, “how can we get the firm back on track as soon as possible”, or, “what can we do to weather our storm.”

But I realized something important which is that this is our opportunity to sort of hit pause on our day-to-day operations, and focus heavily on supporting others.

Firstly and most importantly -- Because it’s the right thing to do.  But we also recognize that the success of our business is dependent on the health of our client’s organizations and local community.  Over the last several years that we’ve worked so hard to build a strong market position for our firm, our client partners were there for us every step of the way.  Now, we feel it is time that we are there for you.

With that, we’ve established a very simple, very low-cost offering for our clients to consider during this difficult time.  We’re calling this offering our Proactive Needs Consult.

The objective of this offering is to help our clients proactively prepare for their most critical projected leadership hiring initiatives - the talent gaps that you expect to be ultra high-priority in 3-6 months from now, once the market hopefully takes a turn for the better.  We know that getting ahead of that curve is imperative, and we want to be supportive in that effort.

The Proactive Needs Consult consists of three simple things:

  1. Brief consult discussion (30-60 minutes):

    • ​​Assessment of the expected leadership hiring initiative

      • ​​Define the role - discuss the org chart and where it falls within, suggestions on reporting structure, etc.

  2. Development of search strategy and approach:

    • ​​Define the search strategy, map out targeted industries and organizations, who are we going after and why, etc.

    • Map out a search messaging strategy

  3. Research & Sourcing Process:

    • ​​Build a prospect chart for the search

From there, we’ll take our findings from the three steps above and construct a single “proactive search strategy proposal”, which will include the entire prospect list we created, and we will simply hand it off to you and/or your internal talent acquisition team to do whatever you’d like with.

To reiterate, we’re doing this for our clients for a nominal fee - something we can discuss further if you’re interested - but it will be minimal.

Lastly -- Not only do we feel we must support our constituency during this turbulent time.  We also feel an obligation to support the community. So with any fees we generate from this particular offering over the coming weeks, or maybe even months, our firm will be donating a certain percentage of them to the Mayo Clinic Foundation particularly to support Mayo’s COVID-19 response funds including clinical and testing readiness, and their long-term Covid-19 research initiatives.
